Victor Prospero is an accounting professional with over 23 years of financial experience. He is a graduate
of the University of Delaware and a certified public accountant licensed in the State of New Jersey.
After graduating from the University of Delaware, Mr. Prospero relocated to Manhattan to begin his accounting
career in the fast-pace world of the New York City construction industry. He lived and worked in NYC for
nearly a decade working for two publicly traded, international, industry-leading construction firms (The
Turner Corporation and Bovis). During this time, he earned the CPA designation. These were the formative
years of his professional life where he progressed through a series of financial roles including the following:
assistant project accountant, project accountant, accounting supervisor, financial analyst, internal auditor,
and accounting manager. This career path provided a comprehensive understanding of the accounting process
from the mundane tasks through the generation of consolidated financial statements and annual report for a
publicly traded corporation. As an accounting manager he was directly responsible for the financial reporting
for a division that produced $250MM in annual revenue and he managed a staff of 15 accountants. It was also
through these experiences that Mr. Prospero performed an array of special project work such as: correcting
chaotic accounting problems; managing software conversions; beta testing new software; technical writing & procedure
documentation; training presentations & public speaking; corporate recruiting; troubleshooting; and filling
temporary voids in the accounting department. These special project skills would later be translated into a
niche accounting practice doing business as Prospero Consulting, LLC.
In the eleventh year of his career, Mr. Prospero moved from the construction industry to the real estate
development/property management side of the business, working as a controller for a privately held firm in
Philadelphia. As a controller in a mid-size, privately held business he obtained experience with the issues
faced by entrepreneurs and businesses of this size. He administered the 401K, medical, & insurance programs
in addition to performing real estate valuations for bidding and acquisition purposes. This work environment
complimented his earlier experience in a publicly held organization. He spent a total of four years working
as a controller in the real estate development/property management business.
In 1996, he accepted a position with a regional CPA firm, working as a CPA performing consulting and
special project work. In 1998, he formed Prospero Consulting, LLC which is a niche accounting and
consulting practice that offers a controller-CFO level skill set for organizations that have outsourcing
and special project needs.
